Flemington Library is getting a refresh!
The first floor of the Flemington Library is undergoing renovation in 2023. This redevelopment project, supported by the State Government's Living Libraries Infrastructure Program, will give more space to the community to support learning, creative programs and large community events.
Key information:
→ The library at Racecourse Road will be closed from January 16 2023.
→ Our services are continuing from at a pop-up library at 15 Ascot Vale Road, Flemington - open now!
Services available at the temporary location include:
- loaning and returning of library materials;
- collection of reservations;
- newspapers and magazines,
- free computer access;
- photocopying and scanning;
- staff assistance.
Smaller library programs will be held in-house, with larger programs including Storytimes continuing at the nearby Crown Street Stables.

Project Update
Ministerial site visit, Wednesday 1 March 2023
On Wednesday 1 March, we welcomed the Honourable Melissa Horne, Minister for Local Government, and Sheena Watt, State Member for Northern Metropolitan Region, for an update on the Flemington Library refurbishment project.
After a tour of the worksite and an overview from the project managers, the Minister, MP, and Mayor Cr Pierce Tyson spoke about their excitement for the Living Libraries Infrastructure grant and the future of Flemington Library.
Councillor Rose Iser, Moonee Valley CEO Helen Sui, and other distinguished guests and staff also joined us on the day.
