Food Drive: give a little this festive season

Now, more than ever, vulnerable community members are feeling the effects of the cost of living crisis, and are in need of support to help them celebrate the festive season.

In partnership with Helping Hands Mission Inc, Moonee Valley Libraries is welcoming donations of non-perishable food items for individuals and families in need.

When you visit the library to pick up books in the next few weeks, why not take a moment to give back to the community and support a local charity organisation? After all, readers are feeders!

We’ll be taking donations from Monday 9 December until Monday 6 January at all five of our library branches.

Suggested items:

  • Canned food
  • Rice, pasta and noodles
  • Cereals
  • Sauces, seasonings and spreads
  • Tea and coffee
  • Dental floss, toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Soap and deodorant
  • Tissues, toilet paper and nappies
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Dog and cat food

All food items must have an expiration date no earlier than June 2025.
