Increased Hours at Ascot Vale Library
Love the Ascot Vale Library? Now there’s even more time to enjoy it.
Ascot Vale Library is a vibrant destination for reading, learning, studying, working and relaxing. We know that flexible opening hours make it easier for people to fit library visits into their busy lives, whether that’s after work, after school, or on the weekend.
That’s why we’re extending staffed opening hours to provide greater access to the library with the support of our knowledgeable staff.
New Opening Hours
From Monday 5 October, staffed opening hours at Ascot Vale Library will be:
- Monday: 10am to 5pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10am to 8pm
- Friday: 10am to 5pm
- Saturday: 10am to 4pm
Whether you’re dropping in after work, bringing the family on a Saturday afternoon, or spending a little longer browsing the shelves, you’ll now have more time to make the most of your local library.
Changes to Extra Access
To align with the increased staffed hours, there will also be changes to the start times for Extra Access:
- Monday and Friday: Extra Access from 5.10pm to 10pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: Extra Access from 8.10pm to 10pm
- Saturday: Extra Access from 4.10pm to 10pm
- Sunday: Extra Access from 10am to 10pm

These changes reflect our commitment to responding to community feedback and ensuring our libraries remain welcoming, accessible and responsive to local needs.
We are pleased to deliver these increased staffed hours following the adoption of the 2026/27 Council budget which included funding expansion for these additional opening hours.
It will be easier than ever to fit the library into your day and visit when it suits you best.
