What is the Home Library Service?

Moonee Valley Libraries provides a free monthly delivery of library materials to members of our community who are unable to visit the library.

Who is eligible?

The program is available to all Moonee Valley residents who have difficulty getting to the library, including those in aged care facilities and supported accommodation. Reasons for this may include:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Mobility issues
  • Chronic illness
  • Caring responsibilities
  • Temporary illness or injury

What materials are available to borrow?

  • Books (including large print)
  • Audiobooks (MP3/CDs)
  • Magazines
  • DVDs
  • LOTE items

How does it work?

  • Submit an expression of interest using the form below, or give us a call on (03) 92431900.
  • Library staff will contact you to confirm your eligibility and to develop a profile of your reading interests.
  • Materials will be selected and delivered to your home once a month by our volunteers.
  • Routine, on-demand and once-off deliveries can be scheduled where required (e.g. for those recovering from an operation).
