Unlock more time at the library
Extra Access gives eligible members self-service entry to Ascot Vale and Avondale Heights Libraries beyond staffed opening hours, including evenings and Sundays, so you can visit when it suits you.
If you ever need help from our team, we’d love to help you during our regular opening hours.
With Extra Access, you can:
- study, read, and relax in comfortable, climate-controlled spaces
- use free Wi-Fi and public computers
- print, copy, and scan documents
- browse the collection, borrow items, and pick up holds
To activate Extra Access you will need to:
An induction is required at each location you'd like Extra Access, and members must agree to additional terms and conditions.
Extra Access is available to members aged 16 and over. Members aged 16 or 17 must attend their induction with a parent or guardian. Children under 18 are permitted entry with their parent or guardian who are approved Extra Access members. Children must always be supervised.
Only approved Extra Access members can enter during Extra Access hours. Guests cannot be admitted during these times. Failure to comply will result in access being revoked.
To enter the library after hours, you scan your library card and enter your library 4-digit PIN. A unique 2-digit PIN will be sent to your email for you to enter to unlock the doors. You will need access to your email on your mobile device to access the library.
Extra Access at Avondale Heights Library is supported by the Victorian Government through the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program and Moonee Valley City Council.
