In 1946, not long after this photograph was taken, Nunans, alongside Copolov`s and Gilbertson`s, were set on fire as part of what Essendon detectives thought "were deliberate attempts to cause damage to furniture stores in a narrow area in Puckle St, between Mt Alexander Rd and Margaret St, Moonee Ponds." A 15 year old boy was charged. Thankfully the damage was negligible.
