- The competition is open to young people aged between 6-14 years who live or attend a school in the City of Moonee Valley.
- Entries open Saturday 16 September 2023 and close on Monday 16 October 2023 (11.59pm).
- Entries must be submitted online via the Moonee Valley Libraries website.
- Winners will be selected from two different age categories: 6-10 years and 11-14 years.
- Entries must be up to 300 words for 6-10 years.
- Entries must be up to 500 words for 11-14 years.
- Entries may be short story or poetry formats and must incorporate the theme “ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night”.
- Entries can be submitted as a PDF or Word document.
- If your story is handwritten, it may be scanned and uploaded.
- Submission is limited to one entry per person.
- Writing submitted must be the entrant’s own work.
- Moonee Valley Libraries reserves the right to reproduce entries in publications and/or promotional materials and products (including online), on its website and/or social media.
- All entrants must have the permission section of the online entry form completed by a parent or guardian agreeing to the terms and conditions.
- The judging panel’s decision is final and only winners and runners-up will be contacted.
- Winners will be contacted by telephone or email.
