We’re saying goodbye to paper cups
As part of our continued effort to improve sustainability practices, Moonee Valley Libraries will discontinue the use of disposable paper cups in our kitchenettes beginning Monday 8 April.
Why the change?
For several years we have provided free tea and coffee in our kitchenettes, along with disposable single-use cups. These cups contribute to excessive waste and are not aligned with our commitment to sustainability by reducing the environmental impact of our services.
What’s next?
From Monday 8 April 2024, we are asking you to bring your own reusable cup or mug to enjoy our free tea and coffee facilities.
The good news?
We have reusable cups for sale! For just $6.50 you can purchase a ‘Libraries Change Lives’ cup, which are made from a blend of natural rice husk fibre and BPA free polypropylene. With a screw-on lid and handy grip, we think they’re pretty cool.
Thank you for your understanding as we strive to make responsible choices for the environment.
Your input and feedback are invaluable to us. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this change, please feel free to reach out to us.
